Havenโ€™t heard anything from Sprouts.

Original review posted by user Apr 01, 2021

Entered your store in Edmond Oklahoma. While shopping, I was offered a mask to wear.

I declined. Moments later I was approached by three men, one appeared to be the manager. He asked if I had been offered a mask. He knew I had because the kid immediately picked up the phone.

The manager said that it was a requirement for me to shop in the store. I asked him if it was a law. (it's not a State or municipal) He said no, but it was a corporate mandate. I questioned him on whether he thought corporate could change the laws in this town and State.

His response was the company was private and was free to make its own rules. I responded by asking him if Sprouts was publicly held? He said it didn't matter. I then asked if the same rules applied to the people in the store who were wearing makes below their nose?

He said the same rules apply to everyone. I then asked why they weren't enforcing them. He then asked me to please leave the store. I left my cart.

And proceeded to walk past the check-out counters and noticed a lady checking out without her mask over her nose. I took a picture and showed it to the manager and asked why she can shop while breaking the rules, but I can't? He just mumbled something and once again ask me to leave. As I was leaving, once again a man was checking out with his mask below his nose.

I stood there until the manager approached once again, at which time I pointed this inconsistency out again. I left the store. The manager mentioned he did not want to be a mask Nazi. I looked around at the three gentlemen who had surrounded me and wondered to myself, then how does a mask Nazi act?

As I left I was thinking that maybe it was prejudice, discrimination, racism? After all I was at the moment identifying myself as a transgender minority female.

Edmond Oklahoma is a great place to live! Sprouts please leave your liberal policies out of Oklahoma.

User's recommendation: Shop elsewhere, plenty of choices.

Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.

Sprouts Farmers Market Pros: Convenient to our location.

Sprouts Farmers Market Cons: Liberal discrimination policies, Mask bullying, Illegal practices.

Location: 24 East 2nd Street, Edmond, OK 73034
